Data Import and Migration

Because Easchi manages and saves data in the form of pure local files, your data migration process is very intuitive: simply place the compatible note files directly into the software’s document directory, then refresh the file tree to complete the import.

💡 Before Migration: Supported File Formats

Easchi can directly read and perfectly parse documents in the following formats:

• Long-form articles and notes: .html (HTML web pages), .md (Markdown files)
• Multimedia and attachments: .pdf, images, and other common document types

⚠️ Note: If the note-taking software you are currently using (such as SiYuan Note, Notion, etc.) does not use standard HTML or Markdown storage at the underlying level, please use that software’s “Export” feature first to convert it to HTML or Markdown format before moving.

🛠️ Three-Step Lossless Migration Guide

Step 1: Obtain the current document directory path

1. Open the Easchi application.
2. Go to the Settings panel.
3. In the data management module, view and copy the actual path of the document directory currently in use.

Step 2: Move your files

• Directly copy or cut the Markdown/HTML files and backlink attachments (such as images, PDFs) exported from your old software into the above document directory.
• You can keep the original folder hierarchy structure directly in your system file manager (Finder / Explorer).

Step 3: Refresh and start a new experience

• Return to the Easchi interface and click the Refresh button at the top of the file tree.
• If you need to rebuild the index, click the Rebuild Index button in Settings.
